Based on the comic book "Here" by Richard McGuire
Story
A generational story of families and the special place they live in, sharing love, loss, laughter and life.. It was first published as a strip in the comic magazine Raw; in 1989, and in 2014 was expanded into a 300-page graphic novel. I wouldn’t say it’s a bad movie
Margaret: I could spend the rest of my life here.. One thing in his favor is that he has the determination to follow through. There are a few things that go against it: Robin Wright’s forced laughs, shallow stories, jarring twists, no real conclusion to the intertwining stories.
There are bones: set pieces, single camera view, soliloquies
But the biggest concern is the overuse of CGI to the point where it’s almost an AI movie. The opening sequence, the sharp focus of the characters close to the “camera”, the artificial fire in the fireplace, the way the far wall disappears to see the characters saying goodbye to each other. If feature AI movies are in our near future, how long will it take for our lives to resemble Black Mirror’s 15,000,000 credits?
I cried three times and laughed twice by the end
After half an hour I was happy to see the movies for free. However, it might be best to wait until you can see it at no extra cost via a streaming service. Then again, I have the same attitude about Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, so…
